#Review ~ Winter of the Wolf by Cherise Sinclair
Winter of the Wolf by Cherise Sinclair
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
What I liked?
The story itself is crafted well, to no surprise. I’m a fan of Sinclair’s Master of the Shadowlands series. However, that particular series can get a little too emotional to me because of how real it is. The Wild Hunt Legacy series, in my opinion, makes you feel reality but also gives you that hint of a magical world beyond your own.

In this story, Breanne Gallagher, who had previously spent her life in the foster care system, ends up in the mountain town of Cold Creek after a supernatural attack in Seattle. There, she meets two shapeshifters named Zeb and Shay who are dealing with personal issues of their own.
First off, I enjoyed diving into Breanne’s character. To me, she wasn’t like those female characters who say “I can handle this, I’m not some weak female” and then proceed to get into a situation that could have been prevented had they just asked for help.
Breanne does have some moments like this, but she has a sense of how she feels and, for most part, knows when to express such feelings.

Secondly, the way Sinclair formed Cold Creek, I felt as if I was there, walking among the shapeshifters; interacting with those in the paranormal that I wouldn’t normally meet.
What I didn’t like?
In the story, there comes a point where Breanne is learning about this world. Of course, she’s going to unintentionally make mistakes, but the punishments got to a point where I felt like she was just a punching bag.

Overall…
Winter of the Wolf is a fantastic tale full of emotion, humor, wit, heat, and suspense. It was lit enough for me and I think, if you enjoy fantasy, you’ll enjoy this too.
